Add a border

Add a border to many photos at once

Choose a whole set of photos and give every one the same border — the same pixels, the same share of each picture, or the same ornament size — then download them as one ZIP.

Frames are rendered locally; the photograph stays in this tab.

One border, many pictures, one decision

Putting the same border on a set of photos raises a question one photo never does: same in what? A 40-pixel border is 40 pixels on every file, which looks thin on a camera file and heavy on a phone screenshot. A 4% border scales with each picture, so it looks the same but measures differently. And a decorative frame has its own detail — the arc of a scallop, the repeat of a check — which is either the same size on every file or not. This page opens on the folder surface and asks, with three rules.

Exact width uses a number in pixels, millimetres or inches. A share of each picture uses a percentage of each short edge. One ornament scale keeps the ornament identical across the set. Fit can put every picture on an exact canvas, a target size can keep every file under a KB ceiling, and every row reports its own result — size, border, ornament, bytes — so the folder can be checked rather than trusted.

Exact width: 40 px on a 1200 × 800 photo — drawn by this site's renderer: a 1200 × 800 picture becomes 1280 × 880.
The same 40 px on a 600 × 800 photo — drawn by this site's renderer: a 600 × 800 picture becomes 680 × 880.

Framing a folder

  1. 1Choose several photos at once, or drop them on the table.
  2. 2Pick the frame and the rule: exact width, a share, or one ornament scale.
  3. 3Optionally set a fit size and a target size in KB.
  4. 4Press Frame all, check the rows, and download the ZIP.

Limits worth seeing before export

  • Photos are framed two at a time to keep memory in check, so a large folder of camera files takes a while; Stop keeps what is already finished.
  • A photo that cannot be opened is reported on its own row and the rest of the folder carries on.

Questions about the rendered frame

Will every photo get exactly the same border?
Pick the rule that means what you want. Exact width gives every file the same number of pixels, or millimetres at a DPI. A share of each picture gives the same percentage, so the border grows with the photo. One ornament scale keeps a scallop or a pattern the same size on every file. Each row reports what its file got.
Are my photos uploaded to make the ZIP?
No. Each photo is opened, framed and encoded in this tab, and the ZIP is written in the page, then downloaded. Nothing is sent anywhere, and closing the tab discards everything.
Can I use a look I made in the studio?
Yes. Open one photo, build the look, then press Frame more photos with this look under Save. The folder surface opens with that look — colours, corners, shadow, caption and all — and solves it again for each picture’s own size.
Can I keep every file under a size limit?
Turn on Every file inside a target size, give the range in KB, and choose whether dimensions may come down. Each row then says the size it reached, or which bound it missed and by how much.
